SFN® PORT CANNULA
Guaranteed punch-free needle (SFN)
Special puncture cannulas for implanted port catheter systems made of medical steel with non-punching special grinding, either with Luer lock attachment or optional connecting tube, handle or fixation wings….
Indication:
Via port catheter system continuous or intermittent supply of medication, infusion solutions, blood transfusions, blood sampling, parenteral nutrition, pain therapy, central venous pressure measurement, etc.
Different diameters and stitch lengths are available depending on the application and necessary flow rate.
Advantages due to special grinding with trocar point and lateral exit hole:
- Guaranteed punch-free piercing of the silicone membrane
- thus prevents leakage and leaching of skin or silicone particles into the blood with subsequent complications
- reduces the risk of infection
- Extends the function and service life of such systems
- Sturdy trocar tip
Indication
Access to implanted port catheter systems to flush the systems, administer medications or infusion solutions, and draw blood.
For puncturing the silicone membrane of the port chamber, only the corresponding punch-free special puncture cannulas may be used. The special puncture cannulas are characterised by a special cut that prevents fragmentation of silicone particles as well as the punching out of a puncture channel in the membrane.
A luer lock connector allows connection to syringes, infusion devices, etc. with a 6% luer taper for intravascular and hypodermic applications.
Patient population: Patients with the need for long-term central access to the vasculature for the above applications.
Users: Medical professionals (doctors, nurses) with appropriate training.
